Looking back at excellent exam results from 2017

Teachers and students and of course their families are to be congratulated on the results in the 2017 Primary School Leaving Certificate. This exam is taken after 8 years in Primary school. Most of the Ganet’s Standard 8 students board at the school for this very demanding school year. The school is proud to report that 23 of the 26 who entered for the exam, gained a pass. At least 13 of these successful students are girls. These students are now qualified to apply for secondary school.

Completed classrooms
We are pleased to be able to report that the final classroom block is now complete and in use by the students. Extra materials were needed to fill in the floor so that it became level. Some of the building work was hampered by availability of water for making the cement needed in construction, but all the problems have now been overcome. The school has 8 completed brick built classrooms.

Increased enrolment
Enrolment is at its highest this year, 239 students. There have been many years when Gertrude Banda has had to manage building projects in addition to her responsibilities as School Director.
